Amp will only drive 1 sub?

Not really sure what happened. But my speakers blew. I pulled them out. Didnt scew up the voice coil. Just the voice coil/bottom of the cone? came unglued from the spider and the wires to the cone, 1 of them seperated on each sub. Not really sure whats up with those wires. I soldered them back together. But how do i know if they are working? Can they be soldered back together?

Anyway i put em back in. I tried it the same as i had it before. Each Subs voice coils are in parallel and connected to its own channel. So i was at 2x2ohm. But now it wont work. The subs play, im not sure what the technical term would be, but i think the frequency is too long, the cone moves too far back and forth and it gives bass but its too low.

When i disconnect 1 the other will play just fine, just as they did before when they were both connected before i started having problems. But then when i hook the other speaker up they drop out. And the subs will play solo on eather channel with either speaker. I dont think i have burned out channels cause i played both subs on both channels. They work when theyre alone in 2ohm but they wont work 2x 2ohm.

Then i connected the speakers in series with voice coils in parallel and bridged it. It did the same thing at 4ohm x1 bridged that it did on 2x 2ohm. Havent yet tried to wire one up bridged. If my amp is 1000w x 1 @ 4ohm im assuming if i hook up 1 of the subs in bridged mode with the voice coils wired in series it would be 500w x 1 @ 8ohms or no? But thats the only thing i havent done. Is wire up 1 but 1 works on either of the channels.

Hook up both and get the low kinda bluh bluh bluh sound.

Any ideas?

I mean i know that 500w x 2 @2ohm is the same as 1000 x 1 @ 4ohm. But why will it only play one speaker? Can the amp blow and just lose half its capacity without burning out an individual channel? Cause thats what it seems. I was planning on getting new subs and amp but i wrecked my r/c chopper and spent my money on parts for it. But turned out good for me cause i at least managed to fix the speakers. Just cant get them both to play at the same time now. I can live with just 1 for a lil while.

But i dont get how the amp could just lose half its capacity. No fuse blown, no heat protection. Just that it will only drive one sub in any mode or resistence configuration.

Also if my subs are 4 ohm dvc. Can i just hook up 1 voice coil to get 4 ohm. Or do i have to wire them both in and choose between 2ohm and 8 ohm.

I guess i should try an 2 @ 8ohm load but ill give that a shot later.

If both move and has low sound it almost seems as if they're out of phase. I know you said you hooked them up just as you did before, but when something goes wrong all bets are off.

Sometimes the the internals of the amp get harmed when odd things happen and maybe when the ohm load is dropped beyond (whatever the two wired are in parallel happens to be) the amp can't handle it.
