amp to sub wire? what size?

I'm attempting my first install and I was wondering what size wire do you usually use when you run the wires from the amplifer to the subwoofer? I'm going to be running about 700 watts. I was told 14 guage would be more than enough but wouldn't that hinder some current since the power wire to the amp is going to be 4 guage? Also, from sub to sub, do you run the same size as from amp to sub? (i.e. parallel or series wiring)

Also, I was wondering how exactly does the wire connect to the rear of a binding post? Do I put a spade terminal on the end of the wire and screw it on the binding post? I'm just looking for a clean install.. Thanks for your help

14awgsame size from sub to sub

doesnt take much common sense to connect a wire to a post
I would probably agree once I get to see one in person. All my research has been online, unfortunately. No hands on. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

binding post?

you mean on your speaker wire terminals?

ya, if it has screws, those are better than the spades, those cheap a$$ spades tend to bend

if you go to walmart or autozone, you can get tiny little ring terminals, actually, that would be even better

8ga if you can to subs. 10/12/14 ga is enough but Im doing 8ga with 600watts per sub(1200+ total)
hmm...difference in opinions. How come bcae1.com said this "The speaker wires will run from the amplifier outputs to the speakers. For connecting the amplifier to woofers in the trunk, a short run of 16g speaker wire will be fine."

I'm not saying you're wrong, but i'm just reluctant.

The terminal cup im talking about can be found here. http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?cart_id=5821284.17380&pid=1267

because usually u* never need more than 2-3feet from sub to amplifier... the shorter the wire, the more efficient it is even if its small.

putting 8gauge is good, cuz u will never have to worry about length/current loss and shyt like that..but still 14-12gauge are perfectly fine also..

not only is it a sort run but also take into account the relatively low amperage.....
