i just installed a new pioneer 800w amp, its powered but i get no sound from subs, i only have 1 rca jack but a guy a circuit city said it would still work somewhat, what would the problem be?
use a DMM and check your output from you amp.... if its putting power to the outputs use the DMM and check the VCs on the subs. since i do not know how knowledgeable you are when it comes to CA its pretty hard to help.
did you try to hook an volt meter up to the sub and the amp to see if you are reading 1 on the meter? if you aren' reading one it means the sub or amp is blown. next did you put a fuse in the fuse holder? i know i forgot to do that once lol! silly canadian i am! next did you hook up all the wire corectly, umm i don't know how to hook an amp up wrong but hit me back.
i have only 1 male, the prong in the other fell out.. a guy at circuit city said subs would still work with 1 rca input, but not full effect. was he lieing?
okay was he lieing i am not sure but i am pretty sure you shouldn't be cheap and a 100% never to trust ppl who aren't aroudn car audio all the time who know something and i am pretyt sure circuit city or curius city isn't someone to listen to. and i believe it will wokr with one but but you need the other one it is somehting called safer i think the word is? lol
im getting the other but i just wanted to see why they didnt work, i have to get my whole car re run for rcas anyways, do you know why else it wouldnt work?
other then you haveing a dead power cable, ie there is a masive pinch in it or a break in it so therfore the power isn't getting to the amp but you siad the amp turns on, umm
other then that you can say either the amp or sub is blown and they only way to do that is with those volt meters. jsut hook it up and see if it reads 1!
other then that you will haev to try new rca from the deck to the amp, and that still isn't it maybe you have an issue with the deck itself maybe there is a setting you didn't turn on or something is damaged somewhere, that or the wires running from the amp to the sub aren't connected properly or they are loose, it could happen.
is any of this stuff new? or is it all used at one point in its life and did you instlal the deck or your buddies who love your money at curciut city do it for?
you wouldn't happen to have a volt meter sitting aroudn anywehre eh? b/c that would be simple to hook up and then know if your sub is blown or jsut old and no good any more!
