first let me say hello as this is my first post..little info 2000 ex cab silverado..morrel maximo comps in doors (those are fine)....but I want to upgrade the ancient subs & amp...old jl audio 10w3d4 (wired to 2 ohms) in jl stealth boxes (two separate boxes) amp is kenwood kac7252...from what I've read & searched and read and searched...the conclusion I've come up with is one of these two amps, ppi bk800.4 (bridged) or ppi 900.4 (bridged) .. as for subs I'm looking at the dayton RSS265HF-4 10" ..would this be a viable upgrade to my aging system?? also any other options on amp or subs would be appreciated..I'd like to stay under 300 for amp & under 200 each on the subs...

thank you

Anyone??...just wondering if this would be a noticeable upgrade (for the cost) from what I am already using and if anyone has any other opinions on the amp/subs I have decided on

thank you

Go with a monoblock amp, generally they are used more often with sub systems. What kind of power are you looking for,, 1000W RMS? 500W RMS? Also, what size subs do you want to go with?

If you're set on using one of those amps and 2 of those daytons you won't be let down, only ever heard good things about Precision Power and Dayton.

Agreed, use a monoblock amplifier for subs. For your budget, a CT Sounds 900.1 would be the ticket and it'll do all of its 900 on stock electrical... although I always recommend overkill on wiring.

As for subs, there are myriad good ones out there but the Daytons are very nice subs for moderate setups. I don't know what your goals are but if you're interested in getting loud, there are plenty of other subs with more xmax for the money... and in the right box, they can sound great too.

What part of Arkansas are you in? My shop is in Shreveport.

well the subs are going in the jl stealth boxes...I'm looking for daily driver good sound..I want it to be able to get loud but not at the cost of good sound...and since the subs are in two separate boxes, how would I wire it to a mono block amp

thank you for all your help...I quite new to whats out there now & newer technology so all help is appreciated

also if I use 2 4ohm subs in 2 separate boxes, can I wire them from box to box then to the amp just like I would wiring a dual voice coil sub...making it run at 2 ohm??

in midwest arkansas near ft smith
