Amp/sub popping

I'm having an issue with my Sound Ordinance 8BPTD Sound Ordnance B-8PTD 125-watt compact powered subwoofer at Crutchfield.com thumping/popping when the Kenwood KDC-BT365U radio Kenwood KDC-BT365U CD receiver at Crutchfield.com is turned on and turned off. Everything is hooked up using a Rockford Fosgate amp kit Rockford Fosgate RFK10i 10-gauge amplifier power and signal wiring kit at Crutchfield.com .

I followed all wiring instructions, did the ground right, using the RCA cable...but there is still that darn popping.

I tried a time delay (NE555 based) circuit, tried a homemade 12v - 5v voltage reducer that was more of a lesson in soldering, and tried different voltage inputs with no success on all fronts. I know I can can Crutchfield and talk to tech support, but i think that'll be a last resort.

Got any ideas?

Wouldn't a capacitor be able to smooth out the signal to keep it from popping? Not sure about specs... Also, I heard that 1:1 transformers are used for smooth coupling as well. Does anyone else know more info about these ideas?
