silvercookie, this is offtopic and doesn't relate to this situation , but is it possible to wire 2 dual 4's into 2 ohms??? Such as... you have a mono amp with 2 channels, you wire 1 sub into 2 ohm, and use channel 1, and wire 2nd sub into 2 ohm also and use channel 2, wouldnt that be a 2 ohm load on the amp???
That is almost sig worthy there man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

There is no such thing as a mono amp with two channels. A mono amp means one channel. If it had two channels, it would be a stereo 2 channel amp.

You cannot bridge a mono amp since there is only one channel. There may well be two sets of connectors, but that is just to make it easier to connect your subs.

If you have a mono amp with a dual 4 ohm woofer, you only have 2 choices:

1_4ohmDVC_8ohm.gif

If you have a mono amp with TWO dual 4 ohm woofers, you only have 2 choices:

first of all you cant wire 2 dual 4ohm subs to 2 ohm
so that means you ran the amp at 1 ohm bridged, which it is not supposed to be ran at.

it was your fault the amp blew up.
It is possible they are SVC4's but I'm not fimiliar with Kickers coil options

Thats still a 1ohm load. That is used for wiring options at the amp. Still presents a 1 ohm load at the amp. And a Mono 2ch huh?? Hook me up.

He was offering to buy a blown amp from you. Instead of being an assclown and flipping shit you could have made some money towards a new amp. Throw it in the trash if its so annoying.

Point being, if you ran it at a 1 ohm load bridge its most likely smoked, but the way it sounds you ran each channel at 2 ohm if I under stand correctly, but we need a model number to know exactly what amp it was.

Err a 1200w hifonics is a monoblock almost certainly.. it will run 2 ohm and 1 ohm just fine, the OP must be mistaken as its not possible to wire 2 4 ohm subs in 2 ohm, he has them 4 ohm or 1. The amp may easily still be under warranty.
