Amp settings for a SX

i just got my 12" sx D2 and hooked it up to a kicker zx850.2 and i have it bridged and the woofer wired at 4ohms so im gettin 850 watts to it.

I havent really turned the amp up too much to break the sub in. But when i do get it broken in how much can i turn up the bass boost? should i be able to set it all the way up because im nowhere near overpowering the sx or what?

im just tryin to get an understanding how the bass boost setting works so i dont blow my sub like i blew my old ones.
