Amp recommendations?

I have a pair of kicker comp R 12" subs 1600watts peak and 800 watt RMS per sub. Just curious to see what kind of amp some of you might recommend. Was looking at a mono block amp but not sure what brand or wattage to go with. Oh and it will be going into a 2003 Chevy Tahoe.

Here are the quick stats on the subs

ported enclosure with two 12" CompR subwoofers

medium-density fiberboard construction covered with carpet

2-ohm total impedance

power handling: 200-1,600 watts RMS (3,200 watts peak power)

How much you lookin to spend and what does 2 ohm total impedance mean? D4?

They can be wired down to 2 ohm. I am willing to spend a few hundred maybe upto $500 depending on the quality.

To be honest I am not sure I think that they have a ohm switch on each of the subs to change them from 1 ohm or 4 ohms so I think when wired together the make the 2 ohms.

Either d 2 or d4 subs. So you can wire to 1 or 4 ohms only Or if d2 subs then you can wire to .5 or 2 ohms either way I have an amp

This is what I pulled from best buys website about the 2ohm Impedance.

2 ohms impedance

Conducts power evenly to keep the speaker at an appropriate level. Impedance-selector slider allows you to change the 2-ohm DVC impedance to 1 or 4 ohms for flexibility.

1600watts peak does now mean rms... i'll say don't send any more than 400wrms to each woofer.... even then they still have too much pwr

If you read my post I already stated the RMS per sub which is 800 watts RMS so together they have 1600watts RMS. The peak per sub is 1600 watts for a total of 3600 watts peak.

Basically I just wanna know what is a decent amp out there these day I haven't had subs in over ten years.
