Ok soo heres the deal...

I decided to put a system in my wonderful car Named "The Lil engine That Could", which is a 93 toyota corolla, No joke, Its my daily driver, But i got sick of having a stock radio in it....

I dont know much about car audio, but i have purchased the following

A Alpine Ida-X300 Head unit thats goin to power my 4 interior 3 way kenwood speakers

Kenwood KFC-1061S

Kenwood KFC-1382ie

I also Purchased 2 KICKER S8L5-4 8" L5 SOLOBARIC Square speakers which im putting into a ported box....

I got the 8 inches cause i listen to alot of metal, and hardcore.. And i want the bas to be clean and tight....

Now im stuck on a amp to get...

I dont need something thats goin to be 500 buxx.... The cheaper the better, the subs are 4ohms, at 300 rms, with a 600w peak, and i was told those speakers can really crank,

Soo what do you guys reccomend?

The cheaper the better...

First, I would have put more emphasis on a front stage by either spending the money to get better components and/or getting an amp for the front stage. Sorry, but HU power never cut it for me regarding my high frequencies, even in my high school days!

As for your lows, you can go budget amp like the HiFonics Class D or you can spend more money on just about anything you can imagine that will give you 600 to 1000 watts RMS @ 2 ohms (assuming your 8" subs are single 4 ohm coil).

ETA: For a budget amp, this would probably make your 8s slam: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12211_Hifonics+BXi+1608D.html

Subs are

Dual 4 ohm voice coils

600 watts max power handling

300 Watts RMS power handling

84.6 DB sensitivity

frquency response: 28 - 100 K

Yeah i thought about amping the the speakers ...

Front have a max power of 120watts and the back has 160wtts...

Both havea low rms like 35... HU pumps liek 45 a channel...

Friend said it would be a pain for me to hook up all those amps in car....

I hate to break it to you, but the RMS power on your HU is only 16 watts per channel. That 45 watts is MAX power!

The Hifonics amp that I recommended in the link is 1 ohm stable but I wouldn't run a budget amp below 2 ohms mono even though it is 1 ohm stable for personal reasons. Then again, you would not be pulling max power out of the amp, so it "should" be fine @ 1 ohm if you are only giving your subs 600 watts RMS.

As for hooking multiple amps up in a vehicle, I call BS! I ran 5 amps in one vehlcie before distribution blocks and all that jazz was popular in the late 80s/early 90s. Anything is possible with a little imagination and ingenuity, especially if you get a four channel amp as your second amp and a 1/0 guage dual amp wiring kit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ok thanks, I really dont know about car electronics, i know about mechanix, i can rip it apart and put the mechanical stuff together just not the electronics parts....

I have a friend who will give me a 400w 4 channel amp, ill jsut use that i guess for the interiors, that hifonics looks nice, I read about those.....

The system i have in my truck i paid to have done like 4 years ago, that was all visoniks, 3 12's , but i neglected to even try and understand what they did in there, all i know its loud, as hell.....

Ok another noob question, but hey im here to learn right?

Since the box i have has 2 speakers in it, doesnt that mean i need to have a 2 channel amp? Or no, how does that all fit into place?
