Amp randomly decreasing in power

I hooked up a hifonics 1500d to my alpines yesterday and it all seemed fine until it randomly stopped working so I turned it all the way down on the bass knob and after playing with it a little it started to work it's doing that a lot now and I'm not sure what to do about it. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks in advance.

what alpines, what is you electrical system like(stock or upgraded) and what are your gains and and bass boost at? with out that info we cant help you

they're 2 alpine type r's wired down to one ohm and its a stock electrical system. Not sure what my gains and boost is set too im in school atm. i dont think the knob/wire is broke it works fine when the amp is actually putting out power.

your running a 1500d (not sure what rms or what kind of amps that pulls) on a factory electrical, that could well be your problem there. if your voltage is dropping way low then its going to get quiet, run you car for a bit with the system off to make sure the batt is well charged, then turn everything on and to full tilt and check your voltage with a dmm, if your voltage is dropping way down then you have most likely found your problem.

it pulls 1500 rms but if that is the problem how do i fix it?
