I just bought a Kenwood DPX500BT HU for my 2002 Acura CL. I want to keep my stock speakers but I want to add a single 12" subwoofer. What would be my best option? Thanks for your replies.

Just a little bass. I guess I'll just go with mono amp. I'm still a bit confused about 2 ohm and 4 ohm subs. Since I'm going with mono amp, I need to stick to 2ohm subs correct?5 channel if you plan on amping your factory speakers, however most can't handle more than 20rms. The hu will put out roughly 12-14watts already. If you just want to add a sub, look into a mono amp or 2 channel and bridge. Are you looking for just a little bass? Alot? Clarity?
doesnt matter what ohm the sub is, just that it matches up with the amp. for typical mono-amps, the higher the impedance, 1,2,4 the lower the power, but the less strenuous on your electrical system due to increased efficiency.Does d 2 mean dual voice coil?
If so, it doesn't matter whether I get a 2 ohm or 4 ohm subs for a mono amp?
