i have an 800 watt logic plx28 amp powering 2 12" sony xplods. i blew a sub so i had only one running. it seems that there is alot more bass and shit with only one sub running rather than 2. if i were to buy a better amp would it bring out more wattage of the subs and they would hit alot harder right?

Utilizing the most of any sub(s) potential isn't as simple of a matter of just increasing the power to them to get them to 'hit harder.'

Have a look at the various stickied tutorials found in different spots around this forum. There's a great wealth of knowledge to be gained there.

The info I could find on that particular Logic amp shows an RMS (continuous) output of 200w/channel X 2 channels @ 4 Ohm stereo ~ though I have reservations as to whether or not that's a true rating either.

Tha majority of getting any subwoofer or combination of subs to perform their best will be dependent on their installation. First you've got to put them in an enclosure designed to allow those particular subs to work the best they can.

Other details that need to be addressed:

What voice coil configuration are those subs? (if you don't know hit us with a model number for those Xplods and we can take it from there)

How do you have those subs and amp wired to each other?

Do you have the amp bridged? (wired to have a single output channel)

Do you have the subs' voice coils wired separately or together? If they're together are they wired in series or parallel?

you didnt wire your speakers right.

ok! the model number of the subs are XS-L1237. the subs are not bridged, as far as the voice coils-not too sure,im really not to bright with this stuff but i think they are seperate.

Those are rated for 300w RMS input and have a single 4 Ohm voice coil.

When you ran only the single sub after its companion went on to happier hunting grounds did you run the amp bridged mono (to a single output rather than two)?

Actually - I think this is a real simple solution.

If it sounded better to you running one sub than it does running both - *ding* *ding* *ding* !! Easy answer, IMO....
