Amp Problem

Gots me a Kenwood amp, newer model. Not sure the exactly number as im at work. After I installed it into my car....got no power. while trying to see if anything was loose, my watch hit one of the RCA inputs and presto, power. So, as long as something metal is touching it, the amp works.

What could be the problem with it?? Double checked all the connections and everything seems good and secure.

the rca's should have nothing to do with power. check your fuses under the hood as well as on the amp. and make sure you have a secure ground. test it with a dmm if needbe.

and pray the amp didnt ground thru the RCA and toast the deck....

I dont think its the RCA its self, just the metal around it. Theres no blown fuses and my Deck works perfectly fine.

Your ground is not connected properly. It did ground through your rca's. Luckily you didn't draw enough current to kill anything. Connect your ground wire to the chassis.
