amp problem

I am running an Infinity Reference 1600a amplifier to 2 12" Infinity Kappa Perfect DVQ's. The amplifier fails to power on quite frequently. It never shuts off in the middle of playing, it will just fail to turn on. I checked all of the connections and were all fine. Also, would a parallel or series type of connection give me more power with this set-up?

I take that b**ch apart and look (and sniff) around to see if you can spot anything, i had a cadence amp that had a loose connection on the board, and it didn't power up once in a while, i just soldered it up and it was good as new.
