I just hooked up my system.

I got a 10" jl audio sub in a truck box,

and a boss amp (not sure the specs see pic below)

my problem, was even when the amp had power and everything was hooked up right, the sub doesnt turn on. I messed with the rc cables, and when i twist the red one sometimes the sub will go for like a milisecond. So I thought it was the rc cables. So I went to walmart to buy a crap set of new cables. Same thing happened.

I think it might be something inside the amp, but I have no clue what or where to start, so if anyone knows please respond or pm me.

thank you in advance

So if I dont know much about soldering, and I open it and thats the problem, should I take it to like circuit city? or what is the best way to go about this. I will let you know when i open it thanks.

edit://

Inner connection looks clean

I will take a picutre because i dont really know what im looking for

Also, after i looked inside, i hooked it back up, and when i turned the h/u it was connected to on, the sub 'jumped' and kinda made a poping sound, not a bad sound, just like and "im on" sound

Boss amps are poor quality so it's not uncommon for this sort of thing. Also that amp isn't putting out near enough power for the JL to move adequately. Boss grossly overstates their power capabilities. I would seriously consider an upgrade.

Though from the sound of things you could have a bad connection to the center pin of the rca's (maybe you can bend the center pin out a bit in the amp) or a bad solder point. Also the power/ground wires to your amp look undersized and might have poor contact, it's possible the amp is cutting out or going into protect from voltage drop. There could be an impedance mismatch here too, how many ohms is the sub wired for and how many ohms is the amp stable to?
