I just hooked my JBL BP 1200.1 up that I just got back from Shallowfu and it blew up on me. I double checked everything. Ground was good, with no paint on surface, voltage was good, all wiring was good. I hooked it all as soon as I put a song on I smelled the magic smoke //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif and looked to the back and saw fire. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I have no idea what happened. I opened it up and I know for sure that 3 mosfets are toast. Now I am without music again, and my car smells like @ss.

Sometimes us techs will miss things. And there isn't always something we can do about it.

You may have a short in your power supply transformer windings, or maybe and inductor has a short. These types of shorts do not always show up during testing, sometimes it won't show itself until you remount the amp the same way it was mounted when it blew up. Gravity is a *****. The amp may have worked fine on the bench, but mount it upside down, and magic smoke.
