Amp Problem

Ok my bf had hooked my amp up and it worked fine he put in a different amp to test it out but it didnt work so he thought the amps fuse was blown so he put in my old amp and now it wont work either ?? he said it will work only if the wire is hooked straight to the remote but then it wont shut off ?? help )//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Coming Out Of The Amp There Are 3 Screw Ports In The Amp The Ground Wire Goes To The Trunks Frame The Remote Wire Goes To Rem Prong On The Amp Then There Is The Power Wire That Goes From The Last Prong To The Battery This Is How It Was Hooked Up And Working Before Now It Wont Work Unless The I Put A Wire That Is Supposed To Go To The Deck Coming From The Remote Spot On The Amp Directly To The Positve Side Of The Battery Along Side Of The Power Wire This Makes The Amp Not Shut Off ... Any Suggestions Why ???

So the remote wire was originally hooked up to the deck and then stopped working? and now the amp will only turn on if you also hook the remote wire directly to the battery as well? Just making sure I understand the issue correctly.

If this is the problem let me know and i can give you some solutions.

if you have to run a wire from the remote to the + for the amp to turn on, just put a toggle switch up somewhere on the dash so you can turn it on and shut it off whenever you want

your remote wire (the one going to the blue wire on the head unit) is the problem.. if the head units remote wire isnt functioning, you could connect the remote wire to the switched positive at HU(red wire at headunit) then the amp will still stay on if the head unit is turned off, but it WILL shut down when the keys are out of the ignition.. correct me experts if i am wrong, but i believe this would work fine and wouldnt have to mess with a swtch.

head unit could have shorted or the wire could have been nicked some how
