Amp problem after installation

i just installed a sony xplod 1000 watt amp in my car, with 2 black 12 inch xplods. All the wires seem to be connected fine, its just the light on the amp will turn on for about a second, then it will turn off, and it will remain off when it should stay on. at first i thought my amp could have been blown but i dont think it is becasue the guy i bought it off of said it worked just fine. all the wires seem to be fine. i used 4 guage wireing. if anyopne has a soultion let me know thanks.

pull out the multimeter........1st check all of your connections again and then check voltage

Running it off a HU or Line out Converter? Check both, maybe you have a setting off. Check the crossover on the amp; if its set rediculously high, you wont get much output...

i just emailed the guy. he said there is a plug that goes in the back in the high level input slot, it has 4 prongs. he said he found it in his trunk and forgot to send it out. he is shipping it out to me tomorrow. do you think this will solve the problem?

I will assume that you're not using the high-level inputs since you don't have the Molex plug for it and consequently you're using the low-level (RCA) inputs?

If this is the case then having the plug your seller is sending to you will do nothing more than make certain you have all the parts the amp came with when new.

Other than that it will have no affect on your problem whatsoever.
