Amp power

I have a Kenwood KAC-8105D, on the box it says max power 1000 watts. The place I bought all my stuff from said that this soundquest SQ600xb 8 gauge wire kit would be able to hook it all up. Now that I've done a bit of reading I found out this kit is for amps up to 600 watts.

Is it going to be fine to use this kit and the fuse holder with the amp? The two subs I'm running both say 300w rms power, not sure if that really has anything to do with it or not.

i would have went with 4awg but u might can get away with 8awg without issue.

I mean the amp says 1000 watts, and the wiring kit is for 600 amps...

Is the amp really going to be putting out 1000 watts?

Your amplifier will not produce 1000w, that's a marketing ploy. It's rated at 500w.

(2ohms) (100Hz,

The subs I'm wiring both have an impedance of 4 ohms and need 300 watts, so will the amp only be putting out 600 watts of power?

Regardless of what your subs need, your amplifier will not produce more than 500w.

OP, check out Car Audio Amplifiers

It explains how to calculate actual output. If in doubt, email or call KnuKonceptz and ask them what they recommend.

8 gauge should be fine.

You should do some reading on this site: Basic Car Audio Electronics

It has a lot of good information, specifically for this thread, scroll down on the right until you see the "Wire" section and read over that, it has some good calculators in there.

good 8 awg would be more then enough.
