Amp output is 0v... :(

Can you switch the Kenwood KAC-7204 to low pass and see if it woks on the subs? assuming you have full understanding of the impedance values involved.

ok, I had switched the sub to the Kenwood amplifier bridged and no sound from the subwoofer. I had the switch set to low pass as well. I think the subwoofer might be fried? when i check the terminals on the subwoofer (using the diode symbol on the multimeter) all it reads is 1...no matter where i put the probes. (+ to + , + to -, - to -) ... is my subwoofer toast //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i checked the + and - on both coils and it still read 1 on the DMM ... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

doesn't 1 mean a closed circuit? put the DMM on ohms and see what it reads.

put the sub out RCA's into your component amp on LOW volume with HPF off and see if you hear anything.

Multimeter is Actron CP7672 /// bought it from AutoZone for $20

I swapped the RCA's and they worked fine.

I had also put the DMM on Ohms and it just read one on BOTH terminal blocks on the subwoofer...is my sub fried?

Are you using the green area 200 to the left of the diode symbol to test how many ohms you have on the coils?

Yes i used the 200 and it only displayed 1 throughout the whole process. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Okay. Amp is getting input. Amp powers on with no protect or blown fuse.

Things left to check: Remove the speaker from the amp output. Check resistance of the speaker wires (Green box, Omega, Ω, 200) Post that.

Do the same on the speaker terminals. It will start small and will increase in value. Increase the catagory(200 to 2000 to 20k (Most stop here) until you get a reading that is not 1(overload, above range selected, on most cheap DMMs). Post that here.

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...
