amp on a sub box?

this is a very noob question but is it bad to mount an amp on a sub box? I'm running on limited space in my trunk so i'm kind of leaning toward mounting it on the side of the box

If you do this it is best to mount with a padding or something that can absorb some of the vibration. It is best to mount closest to the edge of the box as that is where the box is most solid.

ive never done it. i just mounted it to a piece of mdf and set it so i cant move at all

i used to mount to the box. Then the power supply caps in my old mtx amps broke free from the board so i don't mount to boxes anymore.
