amp not working

I need help....My amp isnt working, can some one help,

It is hooked up to the battery, I have it grounded, the power from the head unit is hooked up...the power light flashes when I start the car, then it goes off, and I get nothing...please let me know what you think

Geta Digital Volt Meter, just be cause it is connected does not mean it is getting power? The light flashing only when you start the car is ver y odd
