What happens when you dont plug any rcas into the amp?

ok i disconnected the cap still nothing, i think its the amp. the only time the amp turns on is when its on the output, when plugged correctly to the input, the amp will not turn on. the power cable only dims the logo, it gets bright when connected to the output, and the green light turns on and also on the bass boost remote.

only thing on is the hifonics logo but very dim, power indicator is off

you sure you dont have the 12v- and 12v+ wires switched?

no, they are on correct, i doubled check every thing 5 times.

Figure out how to get some pictures up, we could also use a pic of the settings on your amp, to make sure nothing is set weird that maybe you haven't noticed.

put an ohm meter on the ground of the amp(no cable connected) and both input and output rca shields. then, on the inputs, measure resistance between the center, and shield. the way it's sounding, there likely was a bad ground at one point, and there is an overloaded and burned up trace, or ribbon/cable/wire which also feeds the turn power supply driver circuit, and it is only being completed by going through the backside and providing the circuit with a good ground again. i bet if you open the amp, you will see it

now again, if it is new, and still under a warenty, or doa, i would send it back without opening it up...... just saw another guy with the same exact problem......

Amp is bad or ground is bad...I'm leaning toards the amp

I Got it working, ITs GOOD. Rewired EVERYTHING, NEW WIRES, NEW GROUND, and it works GREAT!!!!!!! Very Happy

sweet. did you see anything wrong? i have also seen personally where something happened inside the amp when hooking it up, and it would not work at all, no ammount of discharging, etc would get it to come back to life. it was one friend buying from another. well, the buying friend i was testing and hooking up for left it here for me in case the selling friend wanted me to dive into it and see what was up. good thing one of them was here to see it, because i would have looked full of s**t, because the seller picked it up after it sat on my desk for a week, and hooked it up, only for it to work flawlessly, lol. still trying to figure out just what exactly happens in the power supply to cause that..... but leaving it sit unconnected could have been all it needed....
