Amp not getting power

I have a 94 Maxima, and I was hooking up my new system and after doing some tests I noticed my amp wasn't getting power. It got power from my other car about 10 mintues prior to that, but now it is dead. For my amp to show it has power what all needs to be hooked up. Also usually when I am doing the ground and everything else is hooked up to the car and amp if I rub it across metal is just sparks everywhere, but I tested the ground and it sparks once and stops, does that mean I need a better ground. I have the remote wire hooked up to the audio system through the fuse box, becasue my power antena goes down when I put in a cd. Should I hook it up to something else???

There should be a specific remote wire on the back of the deck, but I guess the fuse panel would work as well if hooked up to a swtched ignition source.

What kind of deck do you have?

check that remote wire VERY WELL. I wasnt getting power to my amps, I was ready to pull ALL the wiring, and start over, but turns out my remote wire had gotten pinched, so a tiny piece was hitting metal. Might be the problem with yours. Check your power wire in the trunk with a DMM, make sure you are getting good voltage to rule that out as a possibility too.

I have a Bose sound system which has turned out to be a pain. I am just going to get a thicker remote wire, because I think the thin one I am using is close to worthless. My ground seems to be working now, so the remote has to be the problem. Any ideas where I can put my new remote wire now, I was thinking in the fuse box with the audio fuse, any other places you all know of?

The remote wire is always a very thin wire so the size shouldn't matter, it sounds like an insufficient connection, I'd run it from the back of the Head Unit and see what happens...

Which wire on the head unit though, Bose has a crazy amount of wires coming from the head unit.
