amp is on, sub not playing

alright guys, when i was putting the wires back onto my amp, i heard a small little "pop" sound. I then continued to connect the wires and such and now my sub isn't doing anything. Amp turns on and has power, but sub, nothing.

Which "wires" are you referring to when you say you heard a "pop"? Where did the "pop" appear to come from? Please don't tell me you had the battery hooked up when you did this????

i think maybe the power and ground wire might have touched. Which is where the "pop" sounded like it came from, but i can't be for certain.

Check any and all fuses first and PRAY you didn't fry your amp...and ALWAYS disconnect the battery in future dude...it will prevent moments such as you are livin' through right now.

If the amp turns on and has power it should be alright. I've never disconnected my pos and neg terminals when hooking up an amp and never had a problem. Might have messed up the RCA outputs on the head unit though.

it's 3/4 the way up.....no.

okay i just went out and disconnected the neg terminal and then reconnected it and now my system is up and running again. Whew...i will now always remember to disconnect the neg terminal before doing anything with my system.
