my amp stoped working, the power light and fan is on but does put out anything. if i hit the amp on top by where the pos. neg and rem wires are it works for like 1 sec the cuts out. i have hear little noises from the sub but i have to be right next to it. the noises arnt from the deck bc i had the deck off. but this had happened to me b4 and i took the amp apart then put it back together and worked fine for a week then did it today.

what amp is it? I have an old school orion XTR475 that has plugs and I pulled the plugs off one day and the positive terminal solder mount broke and came out... simply soldered it and its back to its original beastly state.

its a boss ol4kd when the amp stops working the lights stay on and the fan works it just doesnt put out anything.
Thats your issue right there......the amp is cheap!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif You young boys will never learn, "you get what you pay for!"

hell yea it was cheap $150 brand new but i dont care it gets me threw till i can buy something better. it was because i had it mounted on my box and a peice broke. i baught a box off someone and he said it was 3/4 mfd wood but its only 1/4 lol

sounds like when you tap on it something briefly touches something else and you get output, i bet a solder on the board or something of that nature busted.

a 1/4" mdf box would get blown to pieces in my setup, that is just stupid. when you are ready to spend $150 on a quality amp come to the forum and we will help you. Until the keep hitting your amp and expecting something out of nothing.

i fixed my amp today. yea that box i have boke many times.when u look at it all sides go crazy and vibrates alot and sopunds like crap from the back but im picking up my new box friday.

lol well mayb i have better luck with that amp bc i had the hooked up for two yrs so far.

haha i know that lol. i dont even think im getting 2000 at one ohm. is their a forum on here that can tell me how to figure that out. i found a chart a few months ago that converted volts into watts but i cant find it.

i am going to be buying a better amp when i get my new job.

i baught a spl z1x3000 or suttin like that and the boss amp blows it away. so im trying to get rid of that amp
