Amp in emergency mode/no sound

according to the user manual for your amp,, if the light is on, you are fine. If the light is off you are in protect so seems that you are getting power. Has to be a problem with your signal or your speakers as you mentioned. Is there anything on that head unit that needs to be activated to send the output signal through the RCAs? I know on some head units this needs to be activated. Take some other old speaker and hook it up to your amp at low level and see if you get any output. A DMM would be helpful right now.

No sir.
I get a feeling your reply will say something like "get one". //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Like funky said, a DMM is your friend right now, and will make trouble shooting much easyer.

I have my RCAs hooked up to "rear audio out" on my deck. On my deck I have subwoofer turned on. I know that my deck has a separate dongle which plugs into the back, which houses the "sub out" as well as a few other outputs, but I'm not sure where I put that dongle. I figure I should still get some output from "rear audio out", so for testing purposes I was not very worried about finding the dongle yet.

Yeah, get one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Less than $10 at Wally-World, and is an indispensable tool when working with this kinda stuff.

Before you go kicking your friend's ***, you can make sure it's not the amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Set to AC volts, with the radio playing, touch the leads to the + and - speaker terminals and see if you get anything..

you suad you have sub turned on,, but do you have the rear turned on?

Never seen the setting in any of the menus, so I imagine it's on.
Sadly I have to visit my parents today, so I'm going to have to get all the wiring under the carpet and put everything back together, whether or not it works.

I'll get a DMM and take it apart tomorrow morning and hopefully sort it all out.
