Do you have any suggestions for an amp to run at 2 ohms then? I still want a lot of power to it.Just get a 2 ohm class D amp. It's pointless to run @ .5 ohm especially considering how much more an amp will cost that will function properly at that low of a resistance. Way more options at 2 ohm.
.5 ohm stable amps off the top of my head are the soundstream amps you mentioned, lanzar optidrive series , and some mmats amps I believe. I know there are more but can't think of them at the moment.
I like the idea of 1 ohm stable amp, it's less expensive but I am super paranoid about blowing it too. Or if I ran 2 ohms with a 1 ohm stable amp my only issue is I know im not getting full potentialYea I know most decent 1 ohm amps will run .5 without a problem I was just trying to list the rated .5 ohm stable amps. I have ran the last 2 amps I have had at less than 1 ohm and they were cheap budget amps. Either way you have lots of options. I would just look around. You could grab a decent 1ohm stable amp and that would prolly work just fine running either .5 or 2 ohm depending on how much power you need and what the output of the amp is, or run 2 1ohm stable amps strapped at 2 ohms.
They say it's not recommended to run those below 1 ohm....?Buy a cab 1600.1 at runnit at .5ohm.... I seen a dude running two at .33ohm daily
Live on the edge alittle bit. My amp says 1ohm min. And I run it at .33ohm dailyThey say it's not recommended to run those below 1 ohm....?
They get hot to touch? They don't shut down?Live on the edge alittle bit. My amp says 1ohm min. And I run it at .33ohm daily
How's he supposed to buy 2 if he goes that route when it clearly states 1 left in stock?Get 2 of these https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_81646_Audiopipe-APCL-15001D.html then run them strapped at 2 ohm. That is right about your $300 price range. Don't know if you have electrical to support 3k rms though.
Well I wasn't meaning to buy them specifically from there but just wanted to show him the exact product I was talking about. That is funny though lol I didn't even see that. I use sonicelectronix cause it displays the greatest amount of details and specs. You can find those cheaper anyways from other retailers on amazon, ebay, or walmart. Usually run around $150. Decent sound from a budget amp. I was happy with mine for the short period of time I had it.How's he supposed to buy 2 if he goes that route when it clearly states 1 left in stock?
have to be bridgeableWhat if I were to get 2 1 ohm stable amps and run them separately with 1 speaker to each at 1 ohm?
