hey guys ok im going to be honest im 18 and i really dont know much about the technical lingo of subs and systems, im trying my best to learn but i still lack alot of knowledge so deal with me. ok i have a 2006 ford f-250 so of course i have limited room. but i have stock speakers and an Alpine iva-w505 headunit. my question is which option is better if i want good sound quality but i also want my system to hit HARD! i want to be heard coming down the block. i plan on getting (2) JL audio 13.5 TW5's but my question is this... their rms is 600w so would it be better to get 2 600w amps or say 1 1000w amp and bridge it out?

i was also told about sundown audio amps, so i was thinking of getting the 1200w and bridging it to the 2 tw5's. but i want a second opinion on them what do u guys know of sundown audio? if not i was thinking of getting a alpine PDX. thank you for any and all input

For guys like us that don't know a lot. Mono block amp is best for subs I think. You can't blow em up by bridging them wrong.

Just go combined rms of subs and get that same number rms mono amp.

As far as Sundown goes I've never owned any but every time you say sundown bass heads get a glazed look for a few minutes then need a cigarette.

na alpine PDX not pioneer. and does any1 have any knowledge of the TW5's? and if they hit hard the installer at the local audio shop said they are comparable to JL 3v6's....
Sorry I said the wrong name. Still Sundown is a highly desirable amp.

but do u think the 1200w bridged to 2 JL 13.5 TW5's would sound good/ function well together?

also i was told that if i put them in a sealed box and aimed them at the floor they would hit harder... any truth to that?

wait wait. man those subs are gona cost u some money this what u need to do . Slow down and read up some more on here and then get your shit. that place is gona say whatever they want, u dont know. just take it slow and dont rush in to buyin stuff. there great subs but u can get some good subs for less. not sayin there gona be better but u will pay less.

"Monoblock amps work for any kind of speaker, not just subs, it just gets more expensive when you have multiple ones for stereo..."

I guess you're right, It's just most people I know have multi channel for mids and highs and monos for subs.

ya i know their expensive but ive got the money to buy them and id much rather spend more money now in order to get the bass and sq that im looking for. besides im working in a truck so i have limited space and they seem to be at the peak in technology for slim subs. i previously had an Alpine w505 headunit, kenwood amp, and (2) Jl audio 10" 1v2 subs. which sounded ok but didnt hit as hard as i want. plus my entire system got stolen out of my truck a week ago. so im in somewhat of a hurry to get a new system i admit but after having a system listening to factory just sucks. and i know they will say w/e they have to to make a sale but i told the guy i would be purchasing them online and doing the install myself. but still thats y im here to make sure i make the right decisions so that i get what i pay for. id rather wait and save to get the best than settle for less. u know?

Get an arc audio ks 1000.1. 850 watts rms at 4 ohms, 1000 watts rms at 2 ohms and 1000 watts rms at 1 ohm. And it's underrated so you'll get more power than that out of it. If your interested I know someone who can get them pretty cheap and with warranty. PM me if your interested.
