Amp getting hot

so my amp is installed in a 2008 toyota tundra.

I know the alt. puts out 100 amps

2 12 inch infinity reference 1260w 4 ohm SVC

amplifier is a avionixx cxa 1220

200 rms x2 at 4 ohms

310 rms x2 at 2 ohms

620 rms x1 at 4 ohms

have true 4 guage wire running to battery and ground as well

sanded rear seat bolt and grounded there with the.

even added a 4 guage ground wire from my battery to engine bay frame. same spot as factory uses just 4 guage wire instead of 16 guage they toyota uses.

i have both woofers hooked up in bridge mode on the amp

2 sets of wire 1 going to each woofer so im splitting us the 600 rms into 300 rms to each woofer.

i honestly think the amp puts out more then 600 rms x1 at 4 ohms

sounds awesome and really moves some air for what it is.

But the amp gets hot really fast and i see a major voltage drop. my bettery guage on my dash cluster is litteraly jumping up and down and my head lights dim out as well.

WTF am i doing wrong. i have ran a 900 rms Rock Fos in a civic and no issues what so ever!!

what am i doing wrong guys???? please help

BTW i am new here and hope everyone is doing well. thanks in advance

so how do i run these both these woofers while getting the most of my amp?

i guess just using 1 channel per sub is only going to be 100 watts less then me splitting up 600 via bridge

the way you have it wired now will get the most out of that amp but probaly not for long, but yes, definitely should wire one sub per channel so the amp is at 4 ohms per channel.

Ok i did this and adjusted the gain and LPF. amp does not get hot anymore just a lil warm. i notice only a small difference, sounds nice and clean now.

but in regards to the voltage drops its still there. i added a 4 guage ground wire from my battery to the frame and notice its not as bad.

is this still normal? im only pulling 400 watts rms (some people claim that its more like 500-600 rms) i kinda have to agree with them.

Do the Big 3..You Tube the Tutorial and watch it.0ga wire works best with a good AGM battery..If all you have atm is 4 ga, its still better than the stock 8-10ga wiring from the alternator to the battery, and will help with the dimming, and keep your voltage up much better, but 0 ga works better/.Look into a good AGM battery to replace your stock battery as well.
