Amp fuses keep blowing

Yeah tomorrow i'm going to rego over it all. Relocate the ground and everything. One thing might be a problem, I could not find and 4ga spade terminals anywhere around here, so I used a 10ga for the power wire, which is 5ga wire, so it didn't really all crimp into it, but i taped it all up after it.

I have a 100a in-line fuse,

and it read 12v with the key in and out of it.

try not to play it as long periods of time turn it down occasionally to let it cool give it a break you know what i mean try that stuff tommorrow and if doesn't work pm or let me know and we will go from there my aim is patrickb1202 if you have aim

so is your amp reading 12v with the car off is your amp on with the car off???

you an auto zone around??? they should have them i know they have 2 gauge ring terminals in the battery dept that i've used beat it down with a hammer it should work

I'm guessing your fuse is too small, but I failed to read the entire thread.

My bad, just read the thread.If it's the fuse in the amp, you got bigger issues..........

Could it be because I'm running 5ga to the battery, but the ground is only 9ga? I thought you are supposed to run the same size on both of them.

Sounds like your amp might be bad? Do the fuses keep blowing?

It didn't blow today, but I didn't really push it too hard, just a moderate to loud volume.

BUMP

Would upgrading my ground wire from 9ga to 5ga to match my battery wire help any?

Also today the amp shut off after playing at a little loud volume for like 4min, then kicked back on.
