Amp fuses keep blowing

My amp was running well all day yesterday, no problems. Last night we had rain, and there's a little hole in my trunk where the taillight is, so the ground terminal got wet, because it was grounded right under the hole, and after around 30min of strong playing, the fuse blew. So I get home, relocate the ground to the seat belt nut, put in a new fuse, and caulk up the hole. Everything is dandy, it plays for like a minute, then the fuse goes again! I thought I dried the terminal off, but maybe I didn't all the way. Also, I had to cut the o ring connector for it to fit on the bolt because it was too big, could that have something to do with it?

maybe your power wire got wet, or is grounding out somewhere. run over all your wiring again.

Could a bad connection be the cause? The battery wire is kind of just stripped and shoved into the hole, and screwed down.

Also, the amp is attached to the box, which moves around a lot when I drive, so I know the wire is being tugged on roughly, because it doesn't have much slack at all.

I'm going to put some spade terminals on the wires tomorrow and secure it to the floor of my trunk, or mount the amp on my backseat.

So today I mounted the amp on the backseat, checked all along the wires, put on proper terminals to connect to the amp, but it's still blowing fuses.

It also does just fine until I turn it up loud, with the bass up, then it blows the fuse. Just keeping it at a low volume it keeps going just fine.

what kind of amp is it? and what size wire are you running?

Alpine MRV-T503. It's 300rms at 14v,

I'm running 5ga power wire. It was working just fine the other day, until the ground got wet. Then it started this nonsense.

Yeah, it came with a 30 and i've been using the exact same 30s

try redoing your wiring at the amp make sure no stray wire is touching a terminal it shouldn't because it can happen

Yeah I just did all that today, everything is nice and secure and safe. Besides, if that were the case wouldn't the fuse blow right when it powered on? Just guessing.

not always are you goin down the road when it pops or are you sittin in the driveway or somethin and it'll still pop

Well i was just sitting in the driveway the other day with it up loud and it did, and today it did at a stoplight.

is your ground very tight where it's at is loose at all you didnt get water on the amp did you

It seems pretty tight, but it might not be flush with both sides of metal because of the angle of the metal. The amp didn't get and water on it at all, just the end of the ground where I had it connected to the chassis.
