amp for a sub

im looking arround for an amp for a 1500W peak and 500RMS sub

i saw a kenwood ( KAC-811D ) amp for preaty cheap im thinking of buying it

i want to know ifs its gona work properly...but the kenwood specs are a little confusing...

the amp is 1600W Peak

kenwood says its 400W at 14.4v rated output

but just a little lower it says:

power output CEA-2006 standard

RMS Output 533W Rms

whats the diffrence between rated and rms output

im a little confused:crap:

would this amp work?

what it's saying is that it is rated for 400 watts rms, but it actually puts out 533 watts rms. what is the voice coil configuration on your sub, and at what ohm load does that amp produce the 400 watts? also don't even bother with peak power.

Yep, peak power seems to be more of a marketing trick than anything.

i have a double voice coil sub....alpine type-r 1222d....

the amp outputs 400watts at 4ohms

so what do you think? should every thing be ok?

is this a good amp to go with this sub?
