this might help with the wiring, and is the only way i know of unless you seperate them and run 2 sets of 2? as far as power goes..........what kind of car,box,speaker handling,and output are you looking for? i might have what you need?

4 SVC drivers with Voice Coils in Parallel

All woofer (+) to the amp (+). All woofer (-) to the amp (-) connections.

2 Ohm Subwoofers: 0.5 Ohms

3 Ohm Subwoofers: 0.75 Ohms

4 Ohm Subwoofers: 1 Ohm

8 Ohm Subwoofers: 2 Ohms

12 Ohm Subwoofers: 3 Ohms

Hey,thanks for the info.So let me get this straight i will be running all 4 for a total of a 1 ohm load? I will be putting these in a jeep wrangler in a sealed box (i think they will fit)and am just looking to get a different setup than my 2 12" kappa perfects i have had for 4 years.Trav

Yes the subs are older ones.They are 04' models.So what size amp should i be looking to get for them?

If the older RE8's are 175w you're looking at 700-800w at 1 ohm, but you're going to have a lot more options at 1000w so I'd just go that route and set the gain accordingly.

You can find a Hifonics bxi1206d or a Lanzar Opti 1400D for around $200, or you could step up to the Audioque AQ1200D for $250. There are plenty of options -- your budget has a lot to do with it.

Your wiring would look like this --

FWIW - you could also wire them for 4 ohms and go with a large 2 ch amp that will give you ~800w bridged.

If you can find an opti for 200 I'd do that... 1206 is good too...

My old RE8's... the ones with the non-chrome motor (they are like a nickel plated metal)... are single TWO ohm...

The newer ones with the chrome motor were usually DUAL 4 ohm...

Check yours... this will dictate the amplifier you need.

It's class a/b though, so not quite as efficient as a similar power class D
