Anyways, I think I want to go with a JL 10w6V2-D4 sub. What amp would be a good match?

oh and what kind of room do you have to work with. i would do a couple of eights or perhaps a single 12" if i were limited on room.

Mtx 801d will be a great match for that sub even for the 12" that amp is rated

500@2ohm--12.5v but you should know that mtx amps are very underrated.

Sorry, I am going to go with the 12" variant. I keep changing my mind, but this time I am sticking with it. Budget? Doesn't really matter as long as it's not over let's say $800. That doesn;t mean I WANT to spend 800, but I can if it is really worth it.

With 800 you could get a JL 1000/1 and use it the 12" and when you get money again buy another 12".

Question: $800 the amp and the sub or just the amp?
