Yeah I think it is too.... is only 3 years old and it's a optima which is supposed to be decent at almost $300 ... felling a bit pisst right about now.

You said Optima?? Those batteries suckass. they're overpriced for a battery that don't last long.

Sticker said 1/15 so it's 2.5 years old - I wonder if a bad ground is not allowing it to charge ??

No I think that just grounds the battery. If the other battery is good and both were connected together, then I would assume that battery you found with 8.5 volts is bad. I would say all connections are good otherwise. It happens to people. They lose voltage for no apparent reason until they start troubleshooting and come across their batteries and find one that's a dud.

I doubt it'll hold a charge. Being it's so low, it's difficult to bring 'er back to life, to hold a charge.

Can you say white powdery corrosion? I'm sure this was it ... no wonder that without the battery the cable gets 2.1. Well , don't use CCA . ... hopefully they'll still give me a new battery but I think this was it. I'll keep you posted shortly

I'm not seeing anything in that pic....also blurry. But yes, corrosion kills connections. Hence why people suggest going over connections every once in awhile just to oversee things and prevent **** like that, your situation.

Ya, now I see a little in 2nd pic. Def get rid of that junky CCA....get some OFC when you can. I see you gotta Interstate battery---that's the one that went bad?

Well I thought it was the optima but turned out it passed the test - it's definitely this CCA, I trimmed 2 inches and it was all white powder

Yeah, don't use CCA. So the battery charged back up fine?

I know it's autozone but I'm in a jam and it's bumping again!! On a good note, it's solid copper and it's a crimped terminal I'm kinda impressed for $7 . Thanks to all for your help. This really had me wondering cause I couldn't pinpoint this **** problem...

I must be getting more voltage with this solid copper cause I'm getting popping on my sub which I never ever got before - have to reset gains. Lesson learned .... CCA is garbage !!!!

At least you figured it out! If your ordering new cable, get a AGM while your at it.? Will def help even more
