Amp cuts out when car on

idk what to say about your amp problem but with your HU inverting the colors, it's supposed to do that. I also have a Pioneer and it does it. idk if they were worried about the colors burning into the screen (It's an LCD though...) or what, but yeah I can confirm that's normal...I don't know of a way to disable it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Finally found a place with the fuse today and it appears to have solved the problem. I only say that because I know my luck. No sign of it cutting out yet though, so it looks promising. Thanks for the help guys!

As for the display, that's weird because I swear it didn't do that before I installed the other stuff. It seems like I would've noticed because it's very distracting. I was thinking maybe it was caused by constantly plugging & unplugging the negative battery terminal while I was working on it, since every time I did that it reset the memory on the deck (and yes, the car was turned OFF when I did that). But if you say yours does it too it must be normal. Guess I'll just have to turn down the brightness settings....

as far as the display inverting, it sounds like it's just a dimmer. Try going into the radio settings and setting the dimmer to off and see if it still happens.

As for your amp, where do you have it grounded? where did you tie your remote turn on wire into?

Use your multimeter and check ALL fuses in the car. This means in the car, and under the hood.

I checked and the dimmer was set to off, so it's not that. I'm thinking that it was all the resetting it was doing every time I unplugged the neg. battery terminal, that seems to be when the problem started.

The amp is grounded to the bare metal under the carpeting in the trunk. I even tried scraping away the area around the connection, and it is a solid connection. I spliced the remote wire from the amp into the blue remote wire that was leading from the deck (to, I assume, the battery), so it's now split 3 ways.

After I replaced the fuse, the thing worked great for a few days, then the problem returned. My theory is that the amp is overloaded (since I'm not sure of the total wattage from the speakers) and causing the fuse to go. To test this theory, I rewired the front speakers back into the deck, disconnecting them from the amp. I then replaced the fuse again. Now it's working again so we'll see how long it lasts....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Well the amp & rear speakers were still cutting out intermittently and I just couldn't stand dealing with it again. So after 3 days of tearing my car apart to install it and nearly $100 just in various connectors, tools & fuses I had no choice but to tear into it again and take the amp & sub out and reconnect the speakers back to the deck. Don't know/care if the amp is faulty at this point but I'll just have to get rid of it. Can't even begin to say how discouraging this whole ordeal has been, other than it's safe to say in the future I'll leave stereo work to those who know what they're doing...
