befor your amp died and was just giving you problems did it only do it at high volumes or at all volumes. and did it just like stop playing for a split second then the sound would come back?

all volumes, it seemed like if sitting still ( at idel ) it would cut in and out, then if i reved the engine it would come back on, but i know what ur think..was my voltage low??? nope sitting at 14.5 so something interal i assume. it was really annoying in the morning on then off on then off. until i got down road and started driving. plus i have a real stout electrical in my truck. but if i drove around for a while and the amp would warm up say 80 degrees, it would stop cutting out unless it was at a real high volume, then it would cut out again.

If you were having grounding issues I would've grounded it straight to the battery. Would've fixed that problem in no time.

Those HK boards have multiple problems. One is the tiny *** cheap carbon 1/4 watt resistors they put on the board on the middle leg of each output FET. When i rebuilt mine, I went with 1/2 watters for more heat dissapation. I bet if you look on that motherboard you'll find crispy ash marks where your resistors were //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif ... bad design IMO.

The FET's are also super cheap, you can get higher tolerance versions if the IRF9540's if you look around. I ened up going with another brand than IRF.

IMO anyone who mods these for daily use should be shot for stupidity. If you burp it like that, then ya...ok. but dont run it daily like that....and dont expect it to last more than a year even if you DO burp it only.

Hard Kore.... I think it was the anaba group who coined it for naming all the boards that exist in amps like the MA4000, the Visonik 4000 and one other I cant think of at the moment.

the brand I was thinking about was Cliff Designs. Their big 4kw amp has the hk board too.
