Amp and sub suggestions

I got some old shitty creative pc speakers now. I know nothing about home audio, as ive always just hooked up car audio in my room. Wanting to spend a few hundred on the system. I dont know what i need, 1 amp, 2 amps, or what kind of speakers. Any help would be nice.

You need some sort of integrated amp or receiver, main channel speakers, and a sub/plate amp combo. Check out some of the other threads about 2.1 home systems, I've shared some good links for DIY speakers and receiver recommendations...figure on building the speakers yourself, putting the sub cabinet together, so the only things you'd need to buy are the receiver itself, the speaker drivers, the MDF of course, and a plate amplifier.

one amp can work...or 2 if you want separate for highs and lows...you need a reciever, EQ would be helpful...

you can use subs or just have some full range speakers dropping something a little low...you can use car speakers in your room setup...but i would just prefer pro gear...i dont know why but thats my preference...you can buy or build a nice box...building it would be nice to fit your taste...

you need something good for highs and mids....a horn would be nice...just get a nice horn driver and a 4x10 shell and your good...
