amp and sub not working correctly

i hooked up my amp and subs. turned the stereo and all i got was a real hard thumping from the subs. the would expand all the way and then stay. i tried adjusting the high and low passes and bass level and boost. the only result was from the thumping to a high pitch whining. i have checked everything. i think a channel might have gone bad. i don't know. hope someone can help me

make sure you have a good ground to bare metal, and mess with your signal wires a bit with it playing. sometimes they are pushed in to far or not enough, and send it a horrible signal

thank you i have messed with everything i can think of. i was thinking of putting both subs on the same channel would that work?

We would need a bit more information than you've provided us thus far to be able to make an educated recommendation.

What subs are you running and what voice coil configuration are they if you know? (Ergo - how many voice coils does each individual sub have and what is their Ohms rating per coil?)

And what amp are you trying to power them with?

Kicker Comp - the regular, entry-level Comps or the CompVR?

2 Ohm single or dual voice coil?

And as far as the Infinity - is it the one that's 1100 or 1200 watts but at 2 Ohms? Not 1 Ohm stable?
