So i purchased an XFL 12 through @mylows10; about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I questioned the sub's ability to take what my amp put out, an was stated the sub would be fine. The sub is housed in a 2.5 cubic foot box ported to 33hz. Everything was done at a shop thats legit and does plenty of work and competitions. They built the box as well as tuned it and installed everything. The amp powering the sub is a RF t1500bdcp. Not even a week after install and moderate use (10-15 minutes at a time and not completely letting lose on the sub) its dead, it sounds like a **** plastic bag inside there. Its not locked up, but the sound is saying its completely dead. I turned the car off and let it sit over night to see if it just needed to cool down and still same thing. There was no burning smells or anything to indicate it was getting too hot or anything..... Can this sub handle this amp and its power? Im just so pissed right now at this sub its not even funny. I had plans to hit my 1st ever show next Saturday also and now its in huge jeopardy without a functional sub :(

Did you talk to mylows about it?Maybe there's something he can do.Usually they hold up pretty good.***** that it crapped out that quick.Good luck.

Oh yes hes helping me out great, just curious if others had any thoughts. Gains looks to be alright, they are on 5 out of 11, but the frequency was kind of low at 65 instead of 80. Either it didnt get enough break-in time or just had a weak sub. I only get like 15-20 minutes playtime about 3-4 times daily since i dont have far to travel for work. When school starts ill be able to run about 30 minutes twice daily. Guess this next sub will be given a few weeks break-in time time with the gains a little lower for a bit. Also, it was suppose to be wired down to 1ohm, a local shop did all my stuff for me as i didnt have time to tear into it and all since its my only car.

Local shop may not have set it up right either. Alot of shops will set up equipment the you bring in to be ran hard with the intent of you blowing your stuff so you have to come back and hopefully buy there stuff. Its a shady business and sometimes the installers arent trained right. Im betting the shop f'd something up but tyen again maybe you go5 a bum sub and the shop did right idk
