I'm not seeing anywhere what size power wire this will need. I have a good 4g ofc installed now. Will that work? The amp says its 2000 rms with a 150a external fuse. Will I need an extra battery? Or just big 3 with a good single battery or??? Thanks

Amp does 2k clean. I'd run an xtra batt to it. It takes 4g but I would run 0 gauge to it with reducers or just trim wire.

I just sold my sony "1000w" (lol) yesterday. I'm trying to sell my kickers now. I want to start fresh. Stock electrical, I have the pioneer avh2600bt deck. Stock everything else.

what are you planning on running your front sound stage on?? 400rms, 800rms, 1000rms??? I personally hate it when I am listening to a system that is so on the edge, that every time the bass hits hard, it draws all the available power, and the mids and highs just kinda fade out, and are basically unheard. Everybody seems to always worry about the power at the sub amp, and never concerned for available power at the front sound stage amp/s .....

That is why I am asking about your front stage ....just an fyi in case your where wondering ....

You need to take TOTAL power into consideration, not just sub stage power ....when making electrical upgrades ...

I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do for front stage. I'm doing it piece by piece, so I thought the sub amp would be a good place to start, then subs, then go from there. Is that not a good way to do it?

That's fine. I just like to get the elec upgrades out of the way first. that's just me though. My standard start to most systems is usually, a 250A alt, big 4 with 1/0, AGM under hood, 1/0 back to a second agm. Remote Voltmeter in dash off the 1st dist block...Then go from there ...That basic set up covers about 90% of all daily systems that I get asked to do....

Ok. Thanks. Just curious, what would happen if someone ran an amp like this without any electrical upgrades? Bad clipping and fry the amp? Kill the batt?

It's hard to say really. Possibly under drive the amp and burn up the power supply ....over work your alt and smoke it ....

I'm not sure. I make up custom kits for people local to me. And just price it out by the ft and number of connectors/crimps ect .....

I have 18ft of Cadence OFC 0 gauge and a few other short pieces I was using for grounding under the hood and in rear, 0, 2, 4 and 8 gauge. The 8 gauge I was using as speaker wire for the sub, I also have batt terminals that are new. I pulled it all out of my infiniti, some are already terminated some are not. All for sale in in the electrical section, wonder over there and you will find other stuff for sale from other members.
