New member looking for info on Pioneer Amo

Hello,

I recently bought a DEH80-PRS Pioneer head unit along with a special harness to equip my HK Mini Cooper stereo with Bluetooth. I noticed the sound quality of the stock speakers has suffered diminishing losses over the past 12 years.

I have a set of Alpine Type S components and 6x9 speakers to replace my factory setup but it requires me replacing my stock amp and wiring. Rather than run power off the head unit, I was considering running the following amp:

GM-D1004 - NEW! - Compact Class FD 4-Channel Amplifier | Pioneer Electronics USA

I can't seem to find any solid review of it, but given space constraints, I felt this was a great option for running speakers. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

It's a Pioneer Reference Series. Should be solid, your HU is from the same series as well.

I've heard only a handful of PRS products but each of them has impressed me. Also, being a PRS Amplifier it should put out more than the 45x4@4Ohms that it's rated at. You should get sufficient power and the clarity should be great as well.

Note that this amplifier has no crossover range on it so you'll have to fine tune using your HU but most do that anyways so I guess it doesn't matter.....

Let us know how it sounds!
