american bass CX 1500 questions

thinking of picking up one of these to power an SX

someone told me specs are 1500@ 1ohm but dont know anything else really about the amp..anyone have any information or prior experience? thanks

i dont really know what the cx1500 will do at 1. sorry. but it does 150@4. so if you compete, you will be a nice low class.

kind of skimmed the posts but if i understood correctly is the same as a 75.1 and should do around 1200 at 1 ohm?

75.1 and cx1500 are kinda of similar....u need inf I got it.

i hear it was rerated to 1590 @ 1 ohm. i used to have 2 of them...they dont do anything special until you wire it down to 1/4 or 1/2 ohm. oh and might i add 2 of them randomly started on fire for me. started the car and poof smoke and fire.

I find it hard to believe they would 'randomly' catch on fire.

Have you used ab amps before?

We have had some vfls that just act retarted for no reason.

I work for an AB dealer. I know a good bit about their amps. Like the new 400.1 for instance.

I still find it hard to believe that an amp would 'act retarded' for no reason.

add 30% to those ratings, and that is what they benched...

also, the cx1500 was re-rated to 255 @4ohm...still in the 0-300 class, but you cant run 2 of them..

thats right! both of them were about a full db quieter than both my viper amps....and the vipers were only gettin 1410 watts combined. and AB sucks ****ing dick trying to get them repaired, bob was an ******* every time i talked to him on the phone. he kept dickin me around. screw him and AB.
