AMERICAN BASS AMPS? no one talks about them so what up with them?

everyone loves the xfl subs but i noticed the sticker on back of some the ab subs look just like sticker on back of a lets say a much lesser brand and i was looking at ssa saw ab ph1600 for $130, hd1500 $170 both 800rms and the hd 1500 also looks like the "lesser brand" amps (love to say the name but afraid ya'll will send a death squad for me).. so maybe 1 of u will say it or tell me if u heard anything about these amps...

The ab amps all get a bad rep except for the korean made VFL series. The vfl hybrid amps get an awful rep from poor quality control issues. And i have noticed that they look very similar to another brand of amp but meh who knows

The vfl Korean is the mainstream amps they sell. The minis are a lower budget friendly amp. Chinese built. But still ok The quality control on those amps aren't as good. But bob at ab takes care of any issues if bought thru an actual authorized dealer or distributor

My VFLs are still kicking azz! Put out plenty of power and still look and perform GREAT!!!Never had any issues out of mine..Never.Thanks to @mylows10:santa:

I do not think any amp manufacturer has figured out a way to get around Ohm's Law.

So the short answer is = 'NO'

what about the hd's?

The HD subs are a higher level than the XFL but the amps are garbage. The only amps that do rated are the Vfl's. I had the Vfl hybrid 4480 and i thought it was fantastic. But some people hate the hybrids since the amps had many issues in the early days.

do you self the biggest favor and just stick to VFL only. no hybrid no hd, no phantom nothing other than VFL. Dont even bother looking at them or shopping for them. As long as its a pure VFL, you'll be a happy camper.

i'll have to leave them alone., guess if i can get $50 for my amp i'll try for something like sundown 1k run at 2 ohms.. u think the audiopipe 1300 is good enough to own and not fry? i really just want like 800-850 rms @ 2ohm later may get E 12 so that would be enough for any 12 i get...

i'd just stalk the classifieds for a good deal if you have time. stuff pops up from time to time. Audiopipe is budget but i'd still shoot for a korean board if possible.

If your wanting 800-850 @ 2ohm why not just get the CAB 1600.1 for $200

A lot of that stuff in that category comes out of the same factory over in china. That's why so much of the stuff looks identical. Buy enough of them and you too can have your name on it.
