Aluminum Coils vs Copper Coils pricing?

Can you use Titanium for a coil since it's super hard?

Not sure how Titanium would do power wise just know it's really hard never seen Titanium wire so I am sure there is a reason. haha Also what about copper covered aluminum kind of like some 1/0 is done or would that even make a difference?

I dont see how anyone could say that copper "sounds better" than aluminum. It would seem to me that you would need to be an extreme audiophile to hear a difference.
Just like I tell a difference in any other two subs, you listen to them.. lol Listen to a old school OZ Audio supper man logo and listen to a aq huge difference in SQ... But the AQ will for sure be louder..

Take an AQ HDC3 12" copper and the HDC3 12" Aluminum in the same box, on the same power and tell me how different they will sound, maybe its just me because i have never made the comparison but it seems like its too little a difference to be heard. Obviously 2 completely different subs will sound different.

Copper Clad Aluminum is used.

Titanium is a bad conductor - so no.

Thats what I thought too, but more and more ppl say that the alums have more of a "punchy" sound and the coppers have a "deeper" sound when the bass hits.

I just got a AQ hdc3 today but needs a recone, I can make it an 18" Aluminum and test it side by side with another 18" copper in a crx.

Of course you're not gonna hear any difference. No human can, but if you add more subs and more power to the mix like my setup then there will be a noticable difference in sound. Which is another reason why I am still leaning towards the copper coils now.

Sounds good to me. Someone needs to do a test so all this nonsense arguing about alums and coppers will finally have a conclusion.

Do it, im not saying the difference wouldnt be able to heard but i dont understand how someone could hear it. Maybe my ear is just so untrained that i dont know. But do that and let us know.

So you're saying that even if the flat wire is less durable and have a higher potiential for failures, that its still a better "daily" choice than the copper coils?
no, i was suggesting AL for better sensitivity, that's all - flat vs round is a separate issue.
