Will Nightshades outperform my HDC3's???

Wanting something a little different i hear here and there that nightshades like smaller boxes. . . The 18 does very well in 4-4.5 cubes, im hoping the 15 can settle for 3 a piece. Checked out the website and could not find much on the specs on this speaker besides just a few thigs. Im not rebuilding my box for it is as big as i can possibly make it without doing something drastic.

I have 6 Cubes im running with 2 hdc3 15's in a common chamber. I don't exactly know what i have for cubic inches for port but i know it should be plenty and i am tuned to 38hz. I run 2 40.1's strapped at 1 ohm and i plan on putting ~3-3.5k rms daily on the nightshades if i go through with it. Would 3 cubes a piece be good, given i will be overpowing them a smaller box would be more logical.

What about reconing to alums and upgrading power to 7k rms?

EDIT: My bad, totally posted b4 reading. I have no clue... I guess you have no choice but to rebuild...maybe wall it off IMO.

Methinks your box is a wee bit small for 2 15s, but I'm not an expert. My box for 1 is 4.25@38hz.

I've had good luck with a few different brands/models of fifteens in 2.75-3.25ft. Provided you have enough power it'll do fine. I believe the AQ's like DD's do like a bigger box though...haven't tested a fifteen to verify that though.

now if it will be louder? of course it will, sundown is superior to all!!!

i kid, but no one can truefully answer that question as there are too many variables. but i do know the sundown 15 will love that 3 cube box

I think what you want is 15s that will work in a smaller enclosure.
