Hey Guys,
new to the forum here and have been installing for a number of years and never ran across anything exactly like this...
I have the following:
2006 Pontiac GTO with the following installed:
Kenwood DNX9140
JL Audio 500/5
Polk MM 6.5 Components upfront and coax in the rear deck
Custom fiberglass box with Kicker 10" sub.
Knuconcepts(sp) 4 Gauge P/G and 14 Guage speaker and Tsunami(sp) twisted pair rca.
With everything but the power disconnected from the AMP, so no RCA's no speakers wires connected I am still getting alternator whine from all 4 speakers. I have the RCAs running down the drivers side and the power down the right. All new speaker wire and nothing has a screw though it. Only thing I have not done yet is disconnect the speakers at the speaker themselves to see if maybe its one speaker inducing all the noise, I highly doubt it though. Last time I came across this I had a bad speaker shorting out to the frame of the car, but that was a different car and only did it when that one speaker was connected.
Either that or I have a overworked alternator and maybe a battery on the way out.
Anyone have any other thoughts?
Thanks!!!
