alternator to new car ?

What are your options when it comes to buying a new car with an upgraded alternator. I will be spending 400.00 on my new alternator for my 97 ford explorer sport but when my car gives out, would I have to buy a ford SUV that is similar, or would that not even work?

it has to be in the same years that the model is made.. what brand is the alternator

iraggi... will be hard to sell an alternator for a 97-01 explorer in 4-6 years, lol

do you have a part shop around there i think they could take it off your hands... your not gonna get what you paid for it but it will be better then it just sitting around

Well actually when i bought mines off there ebay site i was reading through the policy and they said he you get a new car they will exchange it out for your new vehicle, jus have to pay the diffrence if there is any. read up on there warranties, sounds gravy to me thats y i bought it
