Woof! Woof!
im about to put an alternator in my 98 s-10. this would be a first for me. i have real bad luck with cars so i want to be prepared for this and make sure i have the right stuff. i was reading a FAQ on excessives website and the question was, was rpm does alt kick on. answer was at 900 rpm. my truck idles at 600. would that cause a problem. i want my system to play at full at idle.

... Well you could just keep your foot on the gas..

or adjust your idle.. ha ha might be a problem..

or shop around for other alts..

I am useless..

H.O. alts seem to be popular around here as for the idle... get a smaller pully half the size of the factory pully so instead of being 600 RPM's the alt will get 1200 RPMS at idle.

problem is, i want a new alt. i have a 140,000 miles on my truck and alt. i dont want to push that alt too hard. id rather buy a H.O. alt because my current alt could go any day. i'd rather spend the extra money on a new H.O. alt and have no electrical problems.
